As everyone has heard, Tiger Woods is in a lot of trouble. After his car accident a few weeks ago numerous women have come out and said that he was having an affair with them. Some of these affairs have been going on for quite some time. I saw an interview a few nights ago where one of the women spoke publicly about the affair. She even sent out an apology to Tiger’s wife, Elin.

The women that he has been having affairs with are not classy. Some of them are even porn stars. Looks like he has some high standards. I was on Perez Hilton today and he released some text messages between him and Jaimee Grubbs, one of the many women he carried on affairs with. There are tons of text messages on Perez Hiltons site but you can never be sure how legit they are. The content of the text messages between Tiger and Jaimee are rather risqué.

If Tiger is going to cheat I can’t believe that he is stupid enough to send text messages, voice mails, and emails. Doesn’t he know that all of those uses of technology can be used as blackmail? I’m sure he does now. Even though all of these women are coming out claiming to have an affair with Tiger we really don't know who is telling the truth. It seems like everyone is trying to get their 15 minutes of fame.

I feel so bad for Elin and the children. I want to hear her side of the story!!

The CMA Awards

The CMA Awards was on last night! I have always been a fan of country music. Taylor Swift is one of my favorite country music artists. I also love Sugarland and of course Kenny Chesney. The CMA's had some great performances from Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum, and many others. One of my favorite performaces of the night was Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews "I'm Alive". I love both Kenny and Dave and having the both of them perform a song together was simply amazing!

My fave Taylor Swift went home with four awards. She won Album of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year! I was actually kind of suprised when she won Entertainer of the Year only because Kenny Chesney was in that same category and she beat him out! Way to go Taylor!

Real Housewives of OC!

The Real Housewives of Orange County is back! Tonight a new season aired and it was drama filled as promised. I have loved this show since the day it aired and with each season the drama gets bigger. Tensions between Gretchen and Tamara are huge. All of the girls got together for a dinner and it was really awkward. A lot of touchy issues were bought up of course! Things are still sticky with Gretchen. Her fiance, Jeff, passed away and she is now dating Slade. Slade dated two previous housewives and some of the housewives really disagree with the relationship. Can't wait for next weeks episode!

And a new housewife on the way? I wonder if one is leaving or if they are just adding a new one for the fun of it?? Can't wait to see.

A Vaca in Space?

I was on perez hilton today and this really caught my eye. The title of his little blurb was "Are You Ready To Vacation... IN SPACE? Perez goes on to say...

I think this sounds really cool especially wearing velcro suits and sticking yourself to the walls of your pod rooms haha. I can't believe that 43 people have already signed up to do this. I think that 4.4 million dollars is a lot of money to drop on a space vacation. I thought we were in a recession?

Fall back

So on Halloween I completely forgot that we changed the clocks back. I was out with my friends and checking my phone and saw the same hour twice! I was beyond confused but then we all remembered that it was daylight savings time and it was wicked funny. I guess it was one of those you had to be there things? Reading that over it doesn't seem so funny haha

Seeing how I forgot about the time change I forgot to change the clock in my room and I haven't been home at all weekend. I woke up today at 7:30 but my clock said 8:30 and I went into a panic mode. But it was just because I forgot to change my clock back, I made it to class on time haha. It really isn't my favorite thing. I mean yeah it's great because you gain an hour sleep for a night. It was like we got an extra hour to celebrate Halloween. However having it dark out at like 5pm is so sad!

Summer is out and it's offical, winter is coming.

The Stepfather

The Stepfather is playing in theaters today! I really want to see it but I probably won't see it tonight because I think it will be packed. The plot of the story is Michael comes home from military school and finds his mother in love with a man named David Harris. Of course he seems like the perfect husband and stepfather but Michael is a little suspcious of him. He soon unravels the truth about Michael but it might already be too late. The trailers make the movie seem so suspenseful!

I was watching Regis and Kelly today and Penn Badgley was a guest on the show. He plays Michael Harding in The Stepfather. I'm a Gossip Girl fan aand Penn also plays Dan on the show. It will be fun to seeing Penn Badgley play very different roles. One being a New York socialite and in the movie being a military school man who tries to save his family. Should be a good one! Is it just me or are a lot of good movies coming out?

Balloon Boy update!

Watch this clip! It's an update on Balloon Boy aka Falcon. The family did an interview with CNN and the boy was asked if he heard his mom and dad calling for him and he said yes. He then went on to say that he didn't come out because they did this for the show. It was such cringe worthy moment!

I don't understand this family. Was this an honest accident or was it a publicity stunt? They were on wifeswap so maybe it was? Who knows!

6 year old boy in the sky?!

Just when you thought you heard it all... today in Colorado it was reported that a six year old boy had been playing with a homemade balloon he made with his father and floated away in the balloon. This was a project he and his father have been working on. It was believed that he was in a compartment in the balloon which was made of thin plywood. The balloon was spotted at 8,000 feet in the air I can only imagine how terrifed the parents of this little boy must have been.

Luckily the six year old boy was found at home hiding in a box in the attic. He accidentally let the balloon fly off into the sky and naturally was scared he'd get in trouble with his parents. I'm glad the boy is ok and wasn't in the balloon but I think this is a crazy story!

Alice in Wonderland

Is anyone else excited to see Tim Burton's movie Alice in Wonderland?

Well it comes out March 5, 2010 and I am counting down the days! I have always been a fan of disney movies especially when I was younger. Beauty and the Beast is still my fave but Alice in Wonderland is a close second. I love the movie and loved the show on disney as a child. Remember the one with real people and Alice stepped into her mirror and entered Wonderland every day? Loved it!

The new movie is different than the cartoon. Alice is now 19 years old and goes back to Wonderland but has no recollection of being there 10 years prior. Alice tries to save Wonderland from the Red Queen. Johnny Depp plays the Mad Hatter I think he'll put a creepy spin on Alice in Wonderland. In my opinion he puts a bit of creepy into every character he plays. Oh and the best part is... the movie is in 3D! Ok so now I may be sounding like a bit of nerd but I really can't wait to see it. Of course I haven't seen the movie yet but judging from the previews it looks like Tim Burton put a dark spin on Alice in Wonderland. Can't wait to see it!!

DJ AM's show airs on MTV

Last night DJ AM's new show on MTV premeired. As most people know DJ AM passed away due to an accidental drug overdose just a few months ago. He was only 36 years old. DJ AM spent the last few months of his life filming a new television series titled "Gone Too Far" on MTV. The show helps young addicts deal with their own addictions by staging interventions. DJ AM spoke on the show about struggling with his own addictions and his 11 years of sobirety. DJ AM helped many people with this show and will continue to do so with it's airing.

There was a dispute on whether or not DJ AM's show would air due to his sudden and tragic passing. I think it's a good thing that his show is still continuing. He clearly worked so hard for something he believed in. He wanted to help people who have had the same addictions as he did and now he is getting his chance. "Gone Too Far" will not only impact the young people on the show but the people watching the show as well. It is a great tribute to him and his fans.

The Invention of Lying

I saw The Invention of Lying last week. It was a movie that I was looking forward to seeing because I thought it looked really funny.

The movie is about a world where everyone speaks the truth, it is vertually impossible to lie. Until one day Mark is fired from his job, is $500 short on his rent, and is about to be kicked out. He goes to the bank and tells the teller that he would like $800 (the amount of his rent) and the teller believes him and thinks there is something wrong with the system because there is only $300 in his bank account. It is in that moment that he realized he can lie. He is the only one with the ability to do so. He finally finds the girl of his dreams, Anna, who becomes a great friend but she doesn't want to date him because of his awful genetics. She doesn't want her children to be "fat and snub nosed".

He uses his ability to lie to his advantage. He finds fame and fortune with his lies from his lecture film company. He also wins "Man of the year" for telling his mother there is life after death. Mark finds love with Anna at the end of the movie and they have one fat snub nosed boy who inherited the ability to lie like his father, and Anna is also pregnant with another child.

I found the movie to be awful! I thought it was so hard to watch and was dragged out. A few parts of the movie was funny but the overall plot of the movie did not catch my interest. I had high hopes for this movie because Jennifer Garner is one of my favorite actresses. If you saw the movie what did you think??

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Today I participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Boston with a few of my sisters from Gamma Phi Beta. Thousands of people came out today to show support for those battling breast cancer, those who have survived, and everyone who this has affected. Everyone came together in one hope, to find a cure. The walk was along the Charles River and although it was a bit cloudy it was a beautiful day.

Oh, and before we did the walk we all stopped at Starbucks to get a kick of energy. Low and behold outside of Starbucks was none other than Cameron Diaz! So obviously we went over and said hi. It made our day!

size matters?

In the September issue of Glamour plus size model, Lizzie Miller, posed naked. To many Lizzie woudn't be considered a plus size model but in the picture she has a definite roll in her middle section. This picture recieved an overwhelming amount of positive feedback because Lizzie is a woman that many other women can relate to. You never see "real" women in a magazine. Usually when you open up a magazine you see a size zero, air brushed model.

Glamour is taking it to the next level with the October issue. They are trying to have more models of every shape and size throughout the magazine. Seven plus size models, including Lizzie Miller, posed nude once again for the magazine. The plus size models appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show today and I found them to be inspiring as well. For such a long time the media has had its idea of what a beautiful woman should look like. One thing that really shocked me was all of the women in the Glamour photo shoot were considered plus size models however none of them looked big at all! One of the models said that if you are above a size 6 you are considered a plus size model. I think that is CRAZY! Something has to change. Women are under emense pressure to look like the models in the magazines and I think what Glamour is doing is awesome. There are other "real beauty" ads going on as well for example with Dove. We all need to realize that you don't have to be a certain size to be beautiful.

Glamour Magazine has taken a pledge to put women of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, etc

Kate Plus Eight

I'm such a sucker for Jon and Kate news. No matter how much I try to stay away from it I just can't. Jon and Kate have been all over the tabloids, online blogs, and television. This morning I was watching the Today Show and a segment was done about Jon and Kate. Since the family is evolving TLC will be renaming the show Kate Plus Eight. Jon will still make guest appearances but the show will now be focusing on Kate and how life is as a single mother with eight children. My guess is that Jon will just be on the episodes that are filmed during the holidays. The Gosslin family will return in new episodes on Kate Plus Eight in Novemeber. I will definitley be tuning in!

In other Jon and Kate news Jon suspended the divorce for another 90 days. I thought the timing was strange. Right after he gets the boot from Jon and Kate Plus Eight he suspends the divorce. What do you think?

October is Breast Cancer Month!

I know it's only September but recently I have been really into the walks and fundraisers to try and find a cure for breast cancer. A few years ago my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a shock to my whole family. She went through chemo, lost all of her hair, and was fighting her hardest. When she still had breast cancer she was weak but still managed to do a walk in Rhode Island for breast cancer. It was so amazing being able to walk side by side with her for a greast cause. She is so strong and I look up to her in so many ways. About a year later she faught breast cancer and to this day it hasn't come back.

This year my family is putting on a fundraiser, which is actually tomorrow, to raise money for my grandmother to walk. Her company will match any money we raise so we are hoping to raise a lot! I am also going to be participating in a breast cancer walk this October in Boston. My grandmother and I will be participating in different walks but fighting for the same cause. There are always ads for breast cancer walks especially in October. There is an avon 3 day walk that I hope to do one day. There are so many ways for people to help! The walks are so much fun and the people there are amazing. You can learn so much by going and participating in one. It's very rewarding and I encourage more people to participate in breast cancer walks or any walk for that matter!

xbox 360 live

So today I was babysitting. I have been babysitting these two boys for years. Now they have reached the age of video games. One of the boys is in 4th grade and the first thing he said to me when he got off the bus was "We just got xbox 360 live!" He was so excited, he had no homework today since it's friday, and all he wanted to do was play that video game. He told me that he can play anyone in the world and communicate with them using a head set.

Now maybe it's just me but I think that sounds a little dangerous for kids. Anyone can say they are an 11 year old boy and really be a crazy middle aged man! You just never know! I was a little hesitant to let him play xbox live when his mom wasn't home haha The whole idea just freaks me out with kids. But in another sense it would be really fun to play against say your neighbor or best friend down the street.

I've never really been into video games though so maybe thats why I don't really understand the big deal about x box 360 live. I mean I did play N64. Loved that and mario cart, mario party, those kind of games. The only recent video game i've played has been rock band and guitar hero. I'll admit those are two fun games. On rock band I love to sing even though i'm awful at it.

Anyways, I ended up letting him play xbox 360 live and no harm came to him so I guess it's an ok game (:

One Tree Hill

I've been watching One Tree Hill for years and I was so excited for this Mondays new episode! Howeverrrr I missed it. So I went online to watch it this morning. As I was watching the episode it kept getting interrupeted by commercials. Not two, or three, but FIVE! I just thought it was a little much. Advertisments are everywhere on this website. I thought that maybe since I was watching it only it wouldn't get interrupted so much like on TV.

I just think it would be cool if I could watch a show online without any commercials. Like maybe keep the advertisments on the side of the websites page and not during the show?? I don't know just a thoughttt

Taylor Swift & Kanye

I know this happened days ago but I still can't believe Kanye West took the stage as Taylor Swift was giving her acceptance speech and told the audience that he thought Beyonce had the best video of the year. I wasn't watching it but I heard about it the moment it happened so of course I went to youtube and perez to check it out. Minutes after it happened videos were up and people were already commenting and blogging about it! I'm pretty sure that everyone was appauled about the incident.

A few days later Kanye was on the Jay Leno show. He made a public appology and even got chocked up when Jay Leno asked if his mother would approve of his behavior. I'll admit that made me feel really bad for him! I felt like his appology was sincer.

Then Taylor Swift was on The View and she talked about the incident. She went on to say that he hasn't tried to make any contact with her to appologize. Right after that aired she got a phone call from Kanye appologizing and the appology was accepted. I'm glad they are on good terms!

On the Radio

Today was my first day interning for 95.1 WBIM at school. I signed up to do this with my friend Veronica and we got to go on the air and talk. I didn't think that I would be able to do that! I just thought they would show us around the station and show us how certain equipment works. But I was able to talk on the radio I just thought it was so cool haha

I thought today was a great experience and I can't wait to do it again next Thursday. I didn't know what to expect because I've never done anything like this before. With communications radio is one thing that I wanted to look into and being able to be an intern is great experience to see if this is something I really want to pursue in the future.

This is off topic about the radio station but something else I would love to look into is news broadcasting. Ever since I was little I have been interested in it. I even have a letter from 5th grade about what we want to be when we get older and I said I wanted to be like Katie Couric. She is what got me watching The Today Show and i was so sad when she left it! To this day I still look up to Katie Couric and watch her news segments.

Jon & Kate take a break from the media

So today, like every other day, I went on perezhilton.com to see what has been updated since I last checked. Once again something on Jon & Kate Gosslin popped up. I'm sure everyone is familliar with the reality tv stars from their show Jon and Kate plus eight. I'm also sure everyone knows that they are going through a divorce because it is everywhere.

I see it on television.. a segment was done on the Today Show about the divorce and how Kate is coping. I have seen it on countless magazine covers, celebrity news blogs, entertainment news, etc. I feel like this thing is getting out of control! These two are on a media frenzy. No matter where Kate goes the divorce always gets brought up. She was recently on the co-hosting on The View this week. Of course they had to ask her about her divorce. She cannot get away from it and apparently neither can the rest of us! Jon was also given a voice by abc and was able to tell his side of the divorce as well.

I'll admit I used to watch Jon & Kate plus eight all the time. I love that show and I continue to watch it sometimes but it's not the same since they aren't together anymore. The more I watch the show the more I get mad at Jon! The media isn't helping with the divorce. Most of it is being blammed on Jon since he moved on with his new and much younger girlfriend Hailey while kate is taking care of their eight adorable children. Anyways, I just feel like the media is taking this divorce and running with it. It must be working since it's everywhere and a lot of people are interested in it. Team Kate.

First post everrr

I have never blogged in my life but I guess there is a first for everything! The only blog I have ever gone on is Perez Hiltons. I'm not even sure if that counts as a real blog. You know the website that is full of celebrity gossip? I go on perezhilton.com daily to check up on celebrity news.

Anyways my name is Megan Askew. I started this blog for my comm 229 class. It is my first online class and so far I like it. This is my first time blogging and my first online class so we'll see how this goes!
