Just when you thought you heard it all... today in Colorado it was reported that a six year old boy had been playing with a homemade balloon he made with his father and floated away in the balloon. This was a project he and his father have been working on. It was believed that he was in a compartment in the balloon which was made of thin plywood. The balloon was spotted at 8,000 feet in the air I can only imagine how terrifed the parents of this little boy must have been.
Luckily the six year old boy was found at home hiding in a box in the attic. He accidentally let the balloon fly off into the sky and naturally was scared he'd get in trouble with his parents. I'm glad the boy is ok and wasn't in the balloon but I think this is a crazy story!

My roommate informed me of this story earlier today. That is one big balloon! Does this not sound like something straight out of a movie? I suppose it would be more fit for a movie if the boy was actually found in the balloon..
ReplyDeleteI've heard stories about people attempting to take off in homemade aircrafts before (the whole ballon and lawn chair thing), but this story in particular seemed so strange! A six year old boy floating around in a giant balloon!?! Thank goodness it turned out to be a misunderstanding and the boy was alright.
ReplyDeleteI cant believe how bad this story was skewed. Why did they think the boy was actually in the balloon? Secondly, was the balloon even strong enough to lift up a person? Regardless, it's a pretty crazy story. I heard they followed the balloon on camera for hours. Good thing the kid is alright.
